Steve Dixon - Chairman

Until July 2005, Stephen Dixon was General Manager of the Doors and Openers Division of Alesco Corporation. Alesco acquired B & D Australia, where Mr. Dixon had been Managing Director and participated in a venture capital led management buy-in, since January 2000. Prior to that Mr. Dixon has worked for Smorgon Steel, as Operations Manager of its Laverton Mill, and its predecessors ANI and Palmer Tube Mills in management and operations roles as well as leading roles in management of international operations. Mr. Dixon commenced his career in the steel industry at BHP Newcastle in 1967. At B & D Doors Mr. Dixon was integral to the company’s success through not only considerable organic growth but also growth through acquisition of a number of other businesses.

Mr. Dixon is a Mechanical Engineer and has studied strategic business management and development through the Stanford Executive Program at Stanford University California USA.

Patrick Elliot - Non Executive Director

Patrick Elliott started at MDI in 1997 where he initiated and managed several highly successful buyout and expansion capital investments. With Sandy Lockhart, Patrick was responsible for MDI's investment, fundraising, investor communications, finance, compliance and administration. Patrick also served as Chairman of AVCAL in 2004 and is presently a Director of ASX200 listed retailer JB Hi-Fi Ltd. Before joining MDI in 1997, Patrick was a Partner with Australia's leading insolvency and restructuring specialist, Ferrier Hodgson.

Patrick is a Partner and Co-founder of Next capital, an independent Private Equity Firm.

Sandy Lockhart - Non Executive Director

Sandy Lockhart joined Macquarie Bank in 1987 as Managing Director of Macquarie Direct Investment (MDI) and established the bank's third-party private equity funds business with the launch of the Macquarie Investment Trust in 1989. A former head of the Bank of Boston's Australian and New Zealand operations and Senior Executive with the bank's vehicle for private equity investments, First Venture Capital Corporation of Boston, Sandy also served as Chairman of the Australian Venture Capital Association (AVCAL) from 1995 to 1996. He has more than 31 years experience in specialised lending and private equity.

Sandy is a Partner and Co-founder of Next capital, an independent Private Equity Firm.

 

Evan Ryan - Non Executive Director

Evan is a successful businessman in his own right, owning ‘Choice’ Petroleum outlets in and around central Queensland. Furthermore, Evan also owns Olivale and Fairview cattle properties as well as his interest in Steelforce Until the recent sale to Rydges, Evan was also the owner of the Country Plaza International in Gladstone. His businesses currently employs over 300 employees. It was Mr Ryan who, as an investor, recognized and provided financial support for the Steelforce business case at its inception.

Mr Ryan has held a number of private and public company directorships.

Darren Shelton     - Director, General Manager Queensland

As co-founder of Steelforce, Darren Shelton     has spent in excess of 20 years in the Australian steel industry, principally with Palmer Tube Mills where he was Manager Internal Sales & South Pacific and prior to that Sales Manager Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.

Mr. Shelton’s primary role at Steelforce is now General Manager, Queensland, overseeing operations both within the factory and in internal sales. He manages specific internal and external relationships inside the business itself and is widely known throughout the steel industry.

Darren Shelton     is alternate director for Kevin Seamark    .

Kevin Seamark     - Executive Director Marketing

Kevin Seamark     has had a career spanning 20 years in the steel industry, principally with Palmer Tube Mills - a successful steel tube manufacturer, during which time he became the State Sales Manager for Queensland and Northern Territory. It was Mr Seamark, who, together with Darren Shelton    , developed the Steelforce business from its inception.

Since co-founding Steelforce, Mr Seamark has developed relationships with key product suppliers as well as significant customers in Australia. Kevin was the visionary in establishing Steelforce Trading and developing the key relationships in China – subsequently establishing Dalian Steelforce and ultimately commissioning the steel mill.
