Universal Columns
Overview
Universal Columns, commonly known as “UC’s” or “H beams” because of their shape, have a width and depth that are very similar. The column’s more square-shaped dimensions make them ideal for column applications where strength must be alike in both directions and prevents twisting.
Universal Columns are a key component for any major support or structural stability in building construction. They are also favoured in the building profession as steel lintels.
Steelforce have a range of Universal Columns in a variety of sizes from 100 UC to 310 UC, standard lengths are 9m, 10.5m, 12m, 13.5m, 15m, 16.5m and 18m. Our universal columns are manufactured in Australia from 300PLUS steel and exceed the minimum requirements of AS/NZS 3679.1
